The Bible says that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23), and that sin separates us from Him. But God loved us too much to leave us there: "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). Jesus took the penalty we owed and rose again, offering forgiveness and eternal life to anyone who will receive Him.

Receiving Him is a gift, not a wage. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8). You do not clean yourself up first; you come as you are.

A Prayer to Receive Christ
